Benjamin Mack
Benjamin Mack first came in touch with TYPO3 in 2003, while evaluating a good open-source Content Management System alternative for his employer then. Alongside his studies in Computer Science in Stuttgart, he created a lot of TYPO3 powered websites, but also gained knowledge in other areas of the Web.
For TYPO3, Benjamin came to know when he helped developing the AJAX-based pagetree within the TYPO3 backend. Ever since he actively contributed to the TYPO3 core and is the Release Manager of TYPO3's upcoming version 4.4.
Today, Benni is running his own company called "b:13" which mainly does TYPO3 consulting as subcontractor to a dozen of TYPO3 agencies around the globe.
Keynote
Where is TYPO3 used these days, where is the whole TYPO3 project headed and what happens to all our existing projects when version 5 is going to be released? Ben van't Ende, part of the TYPO3 Steering Commitee, and Benjamin Mack, Release Manager of TYPO3 4.4, will answer these questions and talk about the transition between version 4 and 5, the improvements that will come along the way and the outcome of all the efforts of our favorite open-source project.
The road to TYPO3 version 4.4
While TYPO3 4.3 is still on the way and to be released at the end of November 2009, there are already a lot of thoughts and ideas about the next steps of TYPO3 v4. Benjamin Mack, part of the TYPO3 Core Team that drives the current development, is going to explain the strategic cornerstones of 4.4, along with the collaboration and the transition towards version 5 of TYPO3. The premise of the release will be to establish a stable foundation for future-proof development, a solid base for a smooth transition to TYPO3 v5 and to streamline the TYPO3 user interface.
